Iron deficiency affects the health of millions of people, especially women and children, in several countries worldwide. Anaemia may develop when the daily diet is low in iron.

In this case it is recommended to take an iron supplement such as Doppelherz® aktiv Haemo Vital.

A good iron supply is particularly important for growing children above 10, menstruating and pregnant women and for vegetarians.

Blood circulates in the vascular system to supply all our organs with nutrients and oxygen. It is therefore vital to maintain a normal blood formation and healthy blood vessels. Nutrition plays an important role in the maintenance of these parameters, so that normal blood production can only take place when all required nutrients are supplied at sufficient levels. In particular Iron, Vitamin A, Copper, Zinc and Vitamins B2, B6 and B12 are essential for normal blood formation.
Why is iron so important for blood? Iron is a part of haemoglobin, the protein that fills red blood cells and gives them their red colour and their ability to carry oxygen. Furthermore iron helps release energy from food and supports proper function of the immune system. Vitamins B2, B6 and B12 are also important for blood synthesis. These vitamins are required for the cell division process that gives rise to millions of red blood cells that our organism has to replace everyday and for the synthesis of haemoglobin. In addition Vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to the reduction of homocysteine, a metabolic by-product that damages blood vessels and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Doppelherz aktiv Haemo Vital tablets also provide Copper, Zinc and Vitamin A for an optimal utilisation of iron and the promotion of blood cell production and maturation.
Four good reasons to prefer the haematinic formulation of Doppelherz® aktiv Haemo Vital:

  • It is gentle on the stomach.
  • Copper promotes iron transport to the bone marrow where red blood cells are synthesized.
  • Zinc and Vitamin A are essential for proper red cell division.
  • Vitamins B2, B6 and B12 support metabolic pathways related to blood formation.
