Coenzyme Q10 belongs to the group of ubiquinones. The prefix "ubi" indicates that this substance is found throughout the body. Certain organs such as the heart, kidneys, liver and muscle tissue contains particularly high amounts of coenzyme Q10.
It is mainly found in the mitochondria of cells, where it plays a central role in cellular energy production.
The body is capable of producing coenzyme Q10 on its own and absorbing it through food.
Curcuma has been valued in Asia for thousands of years. In the meantime, curcuma has also become well known in Europe for quite some time. As a spice, the ground rhizome of the plant is used. This rootstock is strikingly colored. The Indian turmeric root (bot. name: Curcuma longa L.) contains, among other things, the secondary plant compound curcumin.
