Vitamin A as a contribution to maintaining vision
Thanks to our eyes, we can distinguish around 150 different shades of color and differentiate between light and dark. They adapt to varying distances and lighting conditions, allowing us to perceive our surroundings in an instant. These incredible abilities deserve special protection!
What stresses our eyes?
Working at a computer, frequent TV watching, air conditioning, and night driving are especially strenuous for the eyes. Dry air or insufficient sleep can also tax their metabolism.
Various factors play a role in eye health, maintaining visual function, and preserving eyesight. One of these is a good supply of essential nutrients.
Since our body cannot produce vitamins and trace elements on its own, they must be consumed regularly and in sufficient amounts through food. In the case of an unbalanced diet, however, the supply is not always optimal.
Doppelherz Augen Vital Sehkraft capsules contain vitamins A, C, and E, as well as the trace element zinc. In addition, they provide 20 mg of lutein and 1000 μg of zeaxanthin.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A plays a central role in eye health and is therefore often referred to as the “eye vitamin.” It contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and also supports the health of mucous membranes such as the conjunctiva of the eye.
Zinc
Zinc contributes to maintaining normal vision both day and night and supports normal vitamin A metabolism. Since the body cannot produce this trace element on its own, it must be supplied regularly through diet.
Lutein and Zeaxanthin
The yellow carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin are mainly found in green vegetables such as kale, spinach, and parsley. Their yellow pigment is usually hidden by green chlorophyll — it becomes visible only when chlorophyll breaks down, as in wilting leaves. In the eye, lutein and zeaxanthin are concentrated in the central area of the retina, known as the macula (“yellow spot”).
Vitamins C and E
The eyes are exposed to intense stress every day — especially from the visual process itself and constant light exposure. Both lead to the formation of free radicals, which can cause oxidative stress. To reduce this, the body has its own defense mechanisms.
Vitamins C and E help protect cells from oxidative stress.
Take 1 capsule daily with a meal and sufficient liquid, without chewing.
Not suitable for children, adolescents, pregnant or breastfeeding women.
After 10 months of use, a break in intake is recommended.
Other supplements containing lutein should not be taken at the same time. Additional supplements or medications containing vitamin A should not be taken without consulting a doctor.
