At Doppelherz, sustainability and climatic protection have been close to our heart for many years. For more than 20 years, conserving resources has been an important concern of ours.
Both as the Doppelherz brand and Queisser Pharma GmbH & Co. KG, as a company, we have a social responsibility to limit the global rise in temperature and reduce CO2 emissions caused by mankind. For this reason, the reduction and offsetting of CO2 emissions is a major concern, along with avoiding the use of plastics in our product packaging.
All products produced by Queisser Pharma GmbH & Co. KG businesses are climate-neutral. A long-term objective is even greater savings in packaging materials and the use of sustainable materials for product packaging. Our savings and long-term reduction in packaging materials have already enabled us to make an active contribution to protecting the environment and climate.
Carbon dioxide is emitted during the production of packaging. We want to further reduce this amount in the future. Unfortunately, it is not possible to fully avoid CO2 emissions during production. We fully offset this strain on the environment by supporting sustainable projects with our climate experts, ClimatePartner.
We are working continually on a solution so that we can offer more environmentally friendly packaging materials for our products.
The high quality of the ingredients in our products is our top priority. A variety of quality seals and standards confirm the purity and sustainability of our raw materials and ingredients.
The PureMax* seal certifies a high quality and sustainability of sea fish oil. A particular degree of purity is also ensured when producing Omega 3 fatty acids. We only use fish from sustainable fisheries to produce the concentrate for our products. Regular inspections and appraisals of the concentrates and mandatory quality parameters confirm the extremely high quality of the Omega 3 concentrate.

When fishing for krill, the ECO-Harvesting® technology** effectively prevents any major by-catches by using special nets. This allows the krill to be caught in the Antarctic Ocean in a particularly gentle manner. All the catch is immediately processed on-board the ships, meaning a very pure krill oil is produced. The ECO-Harvesting® method** is one of the few methods proven to have no negative influence on the krill population and ecosystem in the Antarctic.

We are incredibly interested in preserving resources. We were certified in accordance with the environmental standard, DIN EN ISO 14001 back in 1997. The aim of this standard is to reconcile constant improvement of our environmental performance with simultaneous compliance with environmental legislation. We were also one of the first companies to comply with statutory requirements and be certified in accordance with DIN EN 50001 in 2016. As a result, we introduced an energy management system, which focuses on recording energy flows in our company and assessing the energy efficiency. These assessments form the basis for technical measures which help to improve our energy efficiency. This allows us to work sustainably with water and energy as resources.
The entire manufacturing process of a product is also examined in view of the legal requirements. The selection of our raw materials’ quality, regular auditing of our contract manufacturers, the traceability of transport routes and our appointed transport companies are inspected in view of their environmental relevance.
Queisser Pharma works with electricity from 100% green power sources. This allows us to support environmental conservation and protect the climate in a sustainable manner. The green energy comes from renewable energy sources and is obtained from hydropower.

Together with our climate protection experts, ClimatePartner, we have calculated the CO2 emissions of our business activities. As a result, we have initiated measures to reduce them and started to offset unavoidable CO2 emissions. As a pharmaceutical company, we are not able to completely avoid CO2 emissions. We are taking responsibility for the CO2 that is produced and offsetting these completely by supporting certified climate protection projects.
Transparency is important to us: Our investments in different climate protection projects can be tracked using the Klimaneutral logo and the tracking ID on our products.
Climate protection projects are proven to reduce greenhouse gases and make a significant contribution to combating global warming. In addition, they encourage sustainable development in the project countries, for example by better provision of clean drinking water, development of local infrastructure, creation of jobs and the protections of biodiversity.
We support three climate protection projects internationally in the fields of wind energy, solar energy and drinking water.
Wind energy in Bulgaria
Energy can be obtained from wind power, without the need for fossil fuels. We support a wind energy project in Bulgaria, which creates renewable energy and contributes to the economic upturn and sustainable development of the region there. More at www.climatepartner.com/1100
Drinking water in Uganda
Access to clean drinking water is not easy for many people in the world. Many families have to boil their water on open fires. This type of water purification causes CO2 emissions and causes deforestation of large areas. Solar energy in China
Energy from solar cells is considered emission-free and does not use any fossil fuels. In China, we support a project in the province of Henan, which distributes solar cookers.
